When I tell people that I have a podcast… well that is after they ask me:

"Oh, did you start it during covid?"

No, i am not a covid podcaster, I started it on July of 2018, during the AIA conference in New York, so I have been continuously posting through the last 5 1/2 years and have over 70 episodes now.  BUT! I do have some really good episodes that are a good picture of architecture during covid, that I will attest to and when I read those blogs and listen to those podcasts, I am pretty happy that I recorded that history.

people will respond similarly as when I tell them I’m an architect... maybe with a little disbelief, though I am actually much older than a lot of the men in this occupation now and I am definitely as old as many of the men that I went to school with so many years ago, but they will also tell me who they think I should interview... and one of the people is the person that I am interviewing for this episode:

"Oh I have a great person that you could interview for your podcast…. Do you know Jennifer Luce? She's a woman architect!"

And though I do not know of all of the women architects in San Diego, I have met Jennifer Luce, FAIA of Luce et Studio, whom I have met numerous times over the last 25 years that I have been in San Diego again.

So, I happened to attend a coastal design residential awards program in Santa Monica at the DWR that was started by the Long Beach/South Bay chapter of the AIA, the Custom Residential architects network group and a few people said, “Michele you should interview Jennifer for your podcast and I said, well I have sent her emails and called before but we spoke to each other and after a few months we were finally able to make our schedules work because they, as I, (Yes, I have an architecture practice!!!) are busy running their firms.  And Museums just happen to be one of my favorite Building Types and as Jennifer has been involved in a few here in town that I have had the opportunity to visit and because Museum Month is coming up in San Diego in February, this is perfect!

So, if you have any suggestions for guests, you can always let me know and if you have any suggestions for sponsors, let me know because I love hearing  from product representatives, contractors and other consultants who would like to be sponsors of the podcast. The podcast and blog continues to be downloaded for listens and reads every month, including this latest one!
